People who are in great love with indoor gardening are generally having the aroma of nature flowing around them. The indoor gardening is only process they have left for the continuation of growth of the plants during the winter season. This type of plantation is very popular and significant. This can be done at a low cost and the plants will show a better growth from this method. This technique is also called terrestrial plantation. Generally, Instead of using soil for the growth, the water mixed with the nutrients and minerals is used for keeping plants. There are two main techniques that are used for plantation- these are medium culture and solution culture. The solid medium is usually avoided in case of solution culture. The solution culture is the only choice for indoor gardening. Three types of solution cultures exist for the growth of the plants, their uses and features are listed below.
Static solution culture and its importance
• In this type of plant growing culture, the plants are kept in containers, jars or buckets, for the absorption of the nutrients and minerals. Usually the solution is aerated but the chances of un-aerated solution also exist.
• This technique can easily be practiced at home from the use of materials like plastic food containers, glass jars, aquarium hardware or anything that is suitable.
• The name of this technique is Static solution because it uses only one kind of solution, and after the depletion of that solution a fresh new solution can be added. The plant generally rests on this solution and the entire growth of plant depends on the solution.
Continuous flow solution- meaning and its features
• This type of method uses static and constantly flowing nutrient solution for the roots. The technique is quiet easier than static solution method of plantation. This generally produces higher amount of yields for a long time period.
• The most important thing that should be kept in mind in this type of plantation is the rate of flow. Too little amount or too much amount of flow will cause problems relating to the nutrition of plants.
Aeroponics method of plantation
• This method generally involves plant saturation by using the finest drops of nutrient solutions. It entails growth of plants with the roots of plants packed in a chamber. These roots are provided with atomized nutrients in the suitable time.
• The best benefit achieved from this technique is that the plants kept under this type of growth method achieve excellent aeration. Other advantage is that various types of plants can be grown under aeroponic system.
• A general research conducted by the NASA organization concludes that plants grown using this kind of method have an increase of 80% minerals and nutrients as compared with other type of techniques.
The above mentioned techniques are the best ones for suitable growth of plants and will result in the best health of plants. If you are looking towards indoor gardening inside your house during the winter season, then go for the best suitable technique for your ease and comfort.
